ΣΦHΝΑΚΙ (sfee-náki) a shooter or shot; a small serving of spirits, ouzo, or a mixed drink (usually about one ounce), typically consumed quickly, often in a single gulp.

Our family has been proudly operating Sfinaki Taverna in The Heights for almost 30 years. The Heights is not only where we work, this is where we shop, where we live, where we’re raising our families – this is our home!

Our parents were among the many Europeans that came to Vancouver in the 1960s for a better life - and among the pioneers that opened up so many amazing restaurants in the lower mainland. They began serving up the recipes that they brought with them from Greece, adding our favorites along the way. Three restaurants later, and with over 50 years of experience under their belts - they have shown us all we know. Forever grateful for their mentorship and for inspiring our brother to continue cooking food we grew up loving.

It makes us so happy to continue doing what we love to do - to serve you the food that has made us who we are and to be that familiar place where family, friends and community gather to share life over Greek food. From our family to yours, thank you for celebrating with us along the way! YIAMMAS!
